I need to widen a door although it is inside its on old external wall do I need permision and which trade please? thanks

No you don't need permission but strictly speaking you would need building regs. However thousands of people don't bother. Just make sure the lintols have a good bearing, at least 100 mm J c

Hi Kenneth you need a builder/bricklayer to do the job, you are best to inform building control at your local council of the changes as it saves a lot of trouble when you come to sell the property and need to produce the paperwork. Ed
