What does installing main bonding to an incoming water main involve and how long should it take

Hi Paul, The bonding to the water pipe means you have to run a 10mm2 thick solid wire (green and yellow in color) all the way from the consumer unit( fuse board) to where the water stop tap is and then clamp that wire onto the pipe withing 600mm away from that stop tap onto the incoming side. If the stop tap is in the same place as the consumer unit, the whole process shouldn't take more than 1 hour. If the stop tap is in the kitchen, under the sink, and the consumer unit is under the stairs, it's going to be a lot of fun trying to find the best route with the least possible damage to the walls. Hope this helps, Cornelius Cretu
