Laying engineered oak floor

Posted by Tim Foggin, on
Can I lay an engineered oak floor on top of existing solid tiles?

Hi Tim if the tiles are firmly fixed, fairly level and showing no signs of damp there should be no problem in over laying with oak flooring, ensure you use a suitable underlay with a membrane built in. If the tiles are solid but uneven it may require self leveling prior to fitting the floor. Hope this helps. Ed
