Hair felt

Posted by Teak Tse, on
Poly Plumb question. Should PolyPlumb have hair felt wrapped round when chased into walls and the use of browning to fill the wall with a plaster to finish off? Thanks!

Hi James to my knowledge there is no need to wrap the pipe but you need to make sure it's securely clipped to the wall to prevent movement. You could put some plasterers self adhesive scrim on to the pipe to help with adhesion, PVA the wall prior to plastering with browning or bonding. Leave the undercoat plaster slightly below the surface to allow for the finish coat or alternativey you could use a one coat plaster to save buying a seperate undercoat and finish plaster. Ed
