Bathroom refurbishment and renovation in Castle Without
"Has now blackmailed us saying he is not coming to complete the job and look at the snag list until we remove it from site. So please don't use this guy, since he can't run a business and we are more than £2000 out of pocket.
Asked for money at various intervals during the job even though we agreed to pay on completion. We were driving to and from the hardware store to pick up pieces for him. When the boiler overpressured, Gregory said the boiler is not his problem, said we have a leak elsewhere in the house, saying he hasn't caused the problem. Spent ages lifting up carpets and floorboards to find the leak. Finish is not great for £2000!!!!! See snag list Still has to complete painting on the outside wall Shower/Bath: The valves were not installed correctly, no one took into account the mixer settings so even on full H setting the water doesn't get hot. We have spent the morning contacting Crosswater because the manuals and allen key are missing. Grout is cracking around the edges of the bath Basin: there is a leak around the tap in the basin, Paintwork: All the wood panelling needs another coat and the toilet will have to be painted again where the walls have been scratched and touched. The box behind the toilet needs painting and toilet needs to be cleaned to remove paint marks where the box was painted originally. There are various places where panelling doesn't meet the floor and no care has been taken to ensure a good finish > Light fittings: There is paint all over the pull switch for the light, there is a hole in the ceiling around one of the light fittings (centre) which has to be filled and painted. The holes were filled around the pull switch but not painted. > > Cabinet: The door is not fixed correctly, so scratches the base each time it is opened. Some of the hinge screws are missing that attaches the door. The cabinet was actually suppose to be 12cm lower on the grout line and went we looked if we can lower it we noticed that it has been glued to the tiles, what was the reason for this? There is also a > chip in the front LHS corner > Radiator: > The caps which you placed over the ends of the towel rail were not screwed in, only placed there. In the house there are also 2 caps and screws missing > > Tiling: > Some of the wall grout is now grey where you have grouted the floor and gone up the walls. There are places where there is grout isn't continuous and in one area you haven't removed the nail used to separate the tiles and just continued grouting around it. Some of the floor tiles aren't level and there are raised edges. > > Panel in kitchen: > We are missing the plastic screw covers that were there at the start. The transformer box is 5cm too low so the boiler cover cannot be lifted to open it. On closer inspection the transformer box lid is actually broken with only one screw holding it in place. > > Other: > There is a chip in the handle of our new fridge, this wasn't present before you started. This is something that can't be fixed and is really disappointing that it has happened. > > blind and toilet holder not attached as requested Hide "
