"Overall I was pleased with the overall quality of the final job, the attention to detail and Martin's communication was very good (he'd let me know if running late and turned up as agreed). The site was left clean and tidy. We had wanted the job done quickly and Martin had done his best to fit us in at short notice which we appreciated. Martin visited the site in the dark and on initial inspection quoted a price of "about ?390" which was reasonable against another quote we had. We agreed to go ahead. He then called to suggest some additional work which we agred would be ?130 plus a small amount for frame fixings. The final bill however went from an initial ?550 in my mind to almost ?800 as there was an extra labour charge as the job had taken longer than he thought plus additional materials which weren't mentioned when we initially met. I accept that the door frames weren't exactly square but I would expect an experienced tradesman to have taken this into consideration and swallowed the additional cost if it took longer than expected. Communication in this area could have been better to avoid a suprise when writing the cheque. "
