Hardwood flooring installation and renovation in Denton
"we was recomended by yourselfs to use several people for a solid oak hard wood flooring job, from the people sent by ratedpeople we choose a company through your services.
We are discusted at the workmanship of the job and unfortuntely we have already paid him £300 of the £500 job and the job is not finished, he never also gave us a recipt. The Job had many defects which we are not happy about.
I have now had to get a qualified joiner in to fit the doors which were taken of as i will not let this company carry on and do anymore work.
1/ They arrived on satarday 1st of November to do the job, during the job i mentioned about a large enough gap around the endge of the floor as i was concerned that it was tight in areas, i was assured that the gap was ok as they have fitted lots of flooring in this way. The recomended gap im now being advised is at least 12mm. In many areas of the flooring it is tight up to the wall with no gap at all, again they have said this is ok. I have been advised by two qualified floor fitters,(time served joiners) that it will cause problem in months to come if the floor swells or moves (which wood does) it will definetly push up in the middle. I have also been advised that around the arcitrades that the bottom should have been cut to allow the wood underneath as the beading cannot go around it, this has not been done
2/ When the fitter (owner of the company came back on Sunday) i complained about a few things, the day they left the job on the satarday they had left tools (screwdrivers, tape, screw, nails etc) on our furniture. They left heavy tools all on the new floor.
3/ I also asked on the Sunday for the floor in the second room to be taken up (approx 1/3) was down at the time. The reason was the floor was running way out of square. He agreed the floor was way out of square and re did it agin.
4/ They also started using some underlay which i had bought, it was special underlay at £48 (3 rolss used) a roll for sticking the wood down, because the wood was being nailed this is not the correct underlay and normal underlay was about £15.00 a roll, basically the underlay was down and a 1/3 down before i realized what they were using.
5/ I also advised the company that the floor had been scratched in several places by them and i was not happy at there careless ness.
Basically i am not happy this company have been recomended and also that the work is to a very poor standard, I want the floor putting right but not at my cost. I havd been advise it is a tricky job for the floor to be put right at this stage and alot of the floor is going to be taken up and ruined
I cannot have the work finished as we have no confidence whatsover in this company who you recomended
