"Bernie came to fit a gas boiler in my house that I rent out. My tenants rang me every night after he'd left (it took him 3 days to do) and were literally shouting down the phone appauled at the workmanship / level of professionalism from Bernie. In any case, replacing the boiler, he caused a water leak and left the house like that, but here comes the worst bit....he finished the job, left the heating on and left, my tenants came home 2 hrs later and rang me straight away, the whole house stunk of gas!! I called British ghas immidiately and they sent the emergency transco guy round, he told me over the phone it was a "20 gas leak" and it was an evacuation level leak and basically a light switch could have triggered the house to explode!! When I rang Bernie he seemed dis-interested. The transco guy told me the pipes had only been tightened "hand tight" and that if bernie had checked at the gas meter, which any qualified person would have done, he would have immediately spotted the gas leak!! He is not only very unproffesional, but down right dangerous! He could have literally blown up my house and potentially killed my tenants. Please do not think I am exaggerating here, I am telling you the facts. He seems very nice and personable on the phone, but dont let this fool you and please do not fall in to the same trap I did! It cost me a lot more money in the end to put right his wrongs and also in coompensation I had to pay to my tenants for hiring someone that very nearly killed them! Avoid at all costs! "
