Wooden kitchen worktop cutting and fitting in Pollokshields
"Ian Brand was very personable and generally easy to do business with. On a few points, a more carefully managed order of events would have prevented unexpected hassles; more careful advance specification of fixtures and fittings by ourselves would have increased overall satisfaction with final quality and finish. Still, Ian put a great deal of time into this job (e.g. bringing samples around, etc.), and the tradesmen he used were reliable and of a high quality."

Kitchen installation in Pollokshields
"Overall I'm really pleased with my new kitchen. I knew how much I wanted to spend and with the advice given by Tommy I got more unit's ,etc. than I'd thought I would. He came up with a great solution to hiding some ugly plumbing that still allows access for maintenance and I'm very happy with the suggestions he made for the layout and appliances.
He responded very quickly to the initial request and was always available to answer any queries. He turned up on time, the work was completed quickly and he even helped to sort a repair that cropped up unconnected to the work he was doing.I'd thoroughly recommend him and I'm really glad I came across this website."

Kitchen refurbishment and renovation in Pollokshields
"Had I read Suzanne's review (5/11/07) I would not have employed this company. Unfortunately her review had been removed when I first visited this website and I did not see it until work had started on my kitchen. Knowing what I know now I can see where she was coming from, particularly in regard to the lies.
My initial impression of Mr Kennedy was favourable. He was helpful , appeared knowledgeable and was very plausible. He invited me to visit his current job which I did and, on quick inspection, all appeared well. I also visited his website which looked very impressive but which I now believe to be completely misleading – to say the very least.
Doubts started to creep in when a worktop was cut incorrectly to accommodate my own sink which I was keeping. He blamed this on my previous worktop which he had used as a template. Be that as it may he was the one that had cut the hole too big leaving gaps round the sink. He then tried to convince me that grey sealant (on a beech worktop!) smeared round the sink solved the problem! Eventually the sink was replaced by a new one that fitted the hole but this sink was not plumbed in properly resulting in waste water flooding the undersink cupboard. Again we had to point this out to him and get him to replumb it. Even after this we saw that the sinks were not draining completely and our son noticed that the plug hole seals had been fitted wrongly. He fixed them properly.
One electrician appeared and left sockets to be fitted then, according to Mr Kennedy, disappeared off the face of the earth. Mr Kennedy ran wires here and there until another electrician arrived to complete the work. We had been told before the work started that the electrician would do ceiling lights and fit another socket - “no problem. Just tell the electrician what you want” - but issues of payment (which I believe are still ongoing) arose and, in the end, our other son completed the work on the ceiling lights.
The basic cupboards were fitted OK but , as they were prebuilt, this was not rocket science. A wrongly coloured end panel was fitted. It was replaced but again only after we had pointed it out. Had he thought we would not notice? Two handles have not been fitted correctly. Mr Kenndy says I was consulted on the placement of these handles but I was only asked after he had fitted the first handle in the wrong place. If he had looked at the kitchen drawings he would have known where to put them!! I had already agreed to the placement of the handles in the drawings . As it is , to correct this needs a new door to be fitted.
The flooring needs finished off. Tiles have not been cut straight and gaps have been filled with black sealant. It looks shoddy. Mr Kennedy said he would be back to fit proper trim but never appeared. I now discover that he is saying that he only fitted the floor as a gesture of 'goodwill' despite my having an estimate which clearly states “...this estimate.........also includes for the supply of the flooring and it's(sic) installation also.” He apparently has now withdrawn his 'gesture of goodwill' and will not be finishing off the floor.
Rather than employ the tiler recommended by Mr Kennedy ,whom we did not really trust by this time, we employed our own tiler who was nearly electrocuted when he started to loosen a screw on one of the sockets to begin tiling. We contacted Mr Kennedy's mail drop number and he phoned the following day to say the electrician would be out. When no electrician appeared I phoned Consumer Advice who immediately referred it to Trading Standards on Health and Safety grounds. The electrician did eventually come and repair the sockets, one of which had been faulty and needed completely replaced.
Two custom built shelves that he was supposed to make up have not been done. I agreed with his suggestion that a stainless steel splashback (which was the wrong size anyway) was difficult to keep clean and was better not fitted. He also did not fit a towel rail as agreed. He said he would return these to Howdens and obtain a refund (which was to be off set against the cost of the flooring trim.) As he is now refusing to finish the floor I am assuming that he will be sending me a cheque for the refund of those items which I have paid for.
We had been trying to get Mr Kennedy to come and look at the cooker hood – a minor problem we thought -and finish the floor but without success.(This despite his always ending emails/letters with the words ' Any problems? Don't hesitate to get in touch.'.) He was either unavailable – out of network coverage!- or he would make an appointment but fail to turn up. Eventually I asked Howdens who had supplied the units and appliances to come and look at the cooker hood under its guarantee. Their engineer informed us that it was unserviceable as it had not been fitted correctly. Mr Kennedy maintains it has been fitted correctly. I know whom I believe!
I had waited 25 years for a new kitchen and I wish I had waited another 25 rather than employ this company. My advice would be , if you are looking for quality workmanship and someone you can trust, use another company/tradesperson."
