"I'm not even sure where to start. I should have trusted my instincts when I was quoted for plastering and was fobbed off with a wall paper type material. Absolute disaster from start to finish. The 'plaster' Michael applied did not want to stick to any of the walls or the ceiling. Each strip that was put up was clearly visible with an ugly line showing the edges. After about a week of attempts to bodge it back together Michael withdrew from the job leaving us to deal with the poor chap he had roped into helping him. Problem was, Michael withdrew to a new job in North London with all of the decorating equipment and the materials that had already been paid for. Cue days of delays as poor Dennis could do nothing while we waited for Michael to find the time to bring back the equipment. In the mean time we were having to chase ever day, living in a house that was coated in dust every time the bodged work was re attempted, and more worryingly having to pay cash to a decorator that we had no contract with. Thankfully Dennis was reliable and determined to get the job done to the best of his abilities, but if it were not for his work ethic we would have been out of pocket. 3 and a half weeks later and the job was completed. The finish is dreadful because of Michael's insistance that the paper would give the same finish as plaster - rubbish. Michael did not want to come and clear the site, despite this being specifically detailed on the works programme as I have been caught out like that before. He did eventually come back, but if we had not had some of his tools I doubt he woudl have bothered. He would not pay the additional money required to cover the extra paint required to complete the job (as every wall was done several times), despite the quote being inclusive of materials. In addition he managed to break a radiator pipe and has yet to reimburse us the £30 it cost to get a plumber to fix this. This was not a big job. It should have taken a week at most. Nearly a month later, we are considerably out of pocket and are left with a poor job. Michael cannot project manage, and had clearly bitten off far more than he was capable of doing. I would never recommend him for work. He has an appaling work ethic. Given every oppotunity to fix his mistakes he blundered on until he had taken all the easy money before leaving his mate Dennis to clear up the mess. Of which there was plenty."
