"Beware - M+S Plumbing Services took on a repair job in our bathroom and quoted us £200 per day for a job they estimated would last one day or a maximum of a day and a half, plus £30-£40 for tiling afterwards. This rapidly escalated into a demand for £600 plus £60-£70 for tiling as their plumber, Mark, took our bathroom apart and seemed utterly unwilling (or perhaps unable) to finish any of the work he had agreed to do. He absented himself from the site on a regular basis to attend to other jobs, brought back unsuitable pieces of replacement equipment for our toilet siphon and was unable to fit the shower unti we supplied him with. He took a £300 interim goodwill payment from me before the job was done, lied to my wife in my absence about the agreed price for tiling and asked her for £20 cash to pay for grouting. He also walked off site with our mains shut-off key and various pieces of our original shower plus the replacement we had provided - oh, and the shower drain cap - none of which we ever saw again. He has left our tiling scarred and broken in numerous places, our shower installed without a single straight angle anywhere in its structure, our basin wrenched out of alignment and our toilet unseated or properly connected to the soil pipe. We have sought the opinion of two other plumbers, one of them CIPHE-registered, and both are of the opinion that this is the worst case of plumbing incompetence they have ever seen. one is prepared to sign photos of the damage with this opinion for legal purposes, the other has meanwhile quoted us about £900 to put the damage right. We are currently considering legal action. Do yourself a favour and save yourself the grief - steer well clear of this company, they are a liability and utterly dishonest."
