"Part of this builder job was to block in a doorway and make good the finish What I am left with is grey cement (when the rest of the wall is beige) and a total mess all over the walls due to his lack of effort in providing a nice finish. I waited a few weeks as I presumed that the cement was wet and would dry to the same colour. This has not happened. The builder has promised to come and fix three times but has failed to show on each. He has now sent me text messages saying its not his fault and I should let it weather in. What I am left with is a wall that in his words â??I could get renderedâ??. If he is not a bricklayer then why is he quoting on bricking up a door for me. He was happy to take the job on but has made a complete mess. Also inside the bricked doorway he plastered was left with bubbles from his plaster. I have since had to have this wall re-plastered as the finish left for me was poor. Also, I was told that I would get a wooden threshold strip to my patio doors. â??White uPVC is no good as it scrathes easilyâ?? were his words. Well this builder then went and laid a white uPVC threshold strip. I would exercise extreme caution in using this builder for any brickwork. "

"If you are not a bricklayer then why quote for the work to be done. When I asked the builder to quote for a patio step he said he could not do it as he is not a bricklayer yet there was no mention he could not brick the wall. What he said is he cannot tooth out the current bricks, which i accepted. I did not accept different colour cement or the cement mess all over the other bricks... As for the plastering and uPVC threshold strip, thats just poor workmanship and cutting costs by the builder. The builder has told me on numerous occasions he will fix the work but the clear issue here is he doesnt know what he's done or how to resolve it hence the not turning up twice."
