Rogue tradesmen run up £865m bill for botched jobs

Cowboy tradesmen are costing homeowners £865 million a year in botched jobs, a survey says. One in three homeowners has had to employ another tradesperson to fix the previous one's mistakes - at an average cost of £256.

In the past year 68 per cent of homeowners, 10 million, have experienced bad workmanship, with seven out of ten unhappy with levels of service, according to Rated People. The online company warns that by cutting corners to get cheaper quotes, homeowners are fuelling a 'nationwide boom' in cowboys. read full article
