Possible new aerial needed for reception in two rooms in Birkenhead and Tranmere

Job description:I have just bought a HD TV and HD recorder. Once set up it worked fine for a few days then I started getting "programmes failed to load" from the recorder although most did record fine. In the last week I have had problems with none of the HD Freeview channels working through the TV and leaving just a black screen or when they did work they froze or pixelated. I have also experienced normal BBC 1 and BBC 2 just having black screens but all other channels working. Through the HD recorder I have found channels working even when not working through the TV. However the HD box has also had the same problems as the TV. Regularly the message comes up "no signal or weak signal check antenna" and sometimes i can get the channel if I mess with the HDMI cable or aerial coax but this is frustrating. I am sure there must be nothing wrong with the TV, HD recorder and cables I have as they are all new and sometimes they work perfectly while other times I get the problems. Do I need a new aerial for the roof because of the updated digital equipment? If I do need a new aerial fitted I would like a quote for a new aerial connected to the living room on the ground floor and the bedroom on second floor. Both are at the front of the house on a standard two floor terraced house. If you need any more information please let me know, thank you
