Inglenook fireplace restoration in Groby
Needed: Bricklayer in Groby, LE6
Job submitted:Nov 9, 2009
Job description:We are looking for a builder to finish the final stage of restoring our inglenook fireplace. Our house is very old, so material used will need to be in keeping, such as lime mortar rather than modern cement. Work required includes: 1. Re-pointing using lime (cementing only as we have already chipped the old cement out). 2. Installation of a lintel approx. 2 ft (oak front) to create a feature display alcove. This is actually making use of a newly discovered recess. Some of the bricks may need replacing. 3. Laying and levelling of a new brick-fronted hearth, with levelled concrete behind, and flagstones on top. 4. All finished to a high standard. We are very keen to have this work completed by the end of this week (Friday 13th), although one week later is also sufficient if necessary. We do not anticipate the work taking any longer than 2 days. Thank you. James
Budget:£100 - £250
