Gable end needs repointing. in Park

Job description:This is on my parets house, they live in a 3 bed semi which is set back in the close where they live. Their gable is exposed as there is nothing but fields surrounding them and I am concerned about wind blown rain ingress as they are starting to get damp patches in the kitchen ceiling (they have a flat roofed extension) we have looked at the roof and had some work done but I think the pointing may be a problem. The house was built in approx 72 and this wall has never been maintained.
