Job description:I have a mid terraced red brick victorian terrace (built in 1892) from Norfolk Red Bricks. It has a slate roof to the front and tiles to the rear. The chimney is showing some signs of wear and we have recently had some damp patches appear on the chimney breasts of both an upstairs and a downstairs room. A roofer has inspected the chimney and said - that the mortar fillets that join the chimney and roof have come away. - the top 5 courses probably need replacing - the mortar on the tops of the chimney is damaged - it would be better to have lead work rather than mortar - the ridge line bricks are loose (but the rest of the roof is fine). - a tv arial attached to the chimney (not used) should be taken down I am looking for a builder who can quote to repair/rebuild the chimney before winter sets in. - I would expect the builder to supply all materials.
