Repointing in Bethnal Green South
Needed: Bricklayer in Bethnal Green South, E2
Job submitted:May 29, 2008
Job description:Rake out to accepted depth and repoint the front and rear elevations of the top two floors of a small Georgian house. All pointing needs replacement and most is shallow and loose where it hasn't already fallen out. The front may not need quite so much work doing as it is not as bad as the back wall. Front wall is approx 40 sq.m. Deducting the area of four windows gives 32 sq.m approx. The rear wall is about 28 sq.m. as it comes up to the level of a butterfly roof without a parapet wall. The ground floor front and rear extend further out so there is no brickwork at ground floor level. The property to one side is lower and a side wall is exposed. No measurements for this but we estimate about 30 sq.m. Total wall area to be pointed is therefore 90 sq.m approx. The front and back walls will need scaffolding. The front one is above an advanced shop front and the rear one above a rear extension. Access to the rear is via the windows as there is no street access. The side wall as 12-15 feet high so can be pointed without scaffolding. Protect all extension roofs which are bitumen felt or similar. Protect and cover any internal carpets floors and other things as needed and make good/replace any damage.
Budget:£2,000 - £4,000
