Removing section of wall between kitchen and lounge in Gascoigne

Job description:When: probably beginning of August - waiting for the completion on our new house what: we need a section of wall (approx. 1.7 m) removed between the kitchen and lounge. That may be a load bearing wall, although previous owner assured us that they used to have a doorway there. The joists upstairs are parallel to the wall downstairs. Possible problems: near gas outlet (floor, approx. 10 cm from the wall), artex laid in 1990s - so it does not contain asbestos.
