Job description:Square section wooden post on corner of open-sided porch has rotted at ground level and needs to be replaced. Would like something that will not rot at ground level, but there is not room for bricks etc. The surrounding area where the post meets the ground is a mix of paving and shingle. I don't know if the post is supporting the corner of the roof of the open-sided porch. The porch is in a narrow sideway alongside the house so the post's replacement still needs to allow for wheelie bin movement etc.
