Repairs to, and support of, damaged and partially removed chimney breasts in Danbury

Needed: Builder in Danbury, CM3

Job submitted:Mar 11, 2011

Job description:We are in the process of buying a house in Danbury and a structural engineer has highlighted significant cracking to the brickwork flues in the roof void. These merge to form the stack and appear to have been damaged following the removal of the chimney breast from the rear bedroom. The means of supporting the remaining brickwork seems to be in the form of a thin steel plate but appears to be insufficient. We are looking for a guide as to how much repairs will cost and what work needs to be undertaken. Thanks

Budget:Under £1,000
