Job description:I am keen to purchase a house in Chelmsford but modernisation to every room is required. The first piece of work that would need to be done would be to knock down the brick wall between the kitchen and dining room. It is not known if the wall is a supporting wall. The length of the wall to be removed is approx 2.4m. There is also a blown brick in the front wall which would need to be fixed as this has resulted in rising damp in the front room. In addition, the wiring would need replacing in the lounge, central heating is to be installed, ceiling/floors/walls to be redecorated. I am seeking a builder to provide an estimate for the cost of these works prior to making an offer on the house.
