Job description:Chimney stack needing repaired. There is dangerous wear at the top of the existing stack and the chimney needs to be repaired. THere are several options available to us. Remove the dangerous stone and cap the chimney at a lower level - none of the vents on the stack have coal fires and the current chimney is much higher than the minimum allowed. This is dependent upon how far down the stone is damaged. If the chimney needs to be built up a bit or completely rebuilt then we are happy for this to be done in brick then harled rather than in stone. The chimney is on a terraced row at the back of the property. Access to the chimney would be via the flat roof to the rear or the building. Care would be needed not to damage the flat roof whilst making the repair. We have been quoted £1200 already for this work.
