Job description:We want to renovate our kitchen. The property is a 30's style semi which has already been extended on the ground floor to create a larger kitchen. This was done some time ago (15 - 20yrs). The previous work involved a single story extension to the original kitchen but for some reason this work left a 2ft long section of the original outside wall protruding into the kitchen space. This runs from floor to ceiling, seperates two sections of the work surface and spoils the flow of the kitchen by bisecting it n one side. We would like to explore getting it removed or at least reduced in length so there is less interruption to the kitchen. Presumably it is load bearing given it is the original wall of the house and so will require some structural work. More broadly we will be looking to renovate the existing kitchen furniture and redecorate with new floor tiles, lighting, paint, splash back tiles etc. We are planning on painting the cabinets but will need a new work surface installed, new sink and taps, and a dishwasher plumbed in. A contractor who could take on the whole job would be of interest, but not essential as the kitchen renovation could take place separately once the wall section has been reduced/removed.
