Making a hole big enough to fit in stove style fire fire in Fareham North

Job description:we have a brought a stove style gas fire, which looked small enough to fit onto the hole left when our back boiler was removed. However on arrival we find it soes not fit and may need extra space at the sides and top. We need advice and some one who has done thisa type of job before.
