Estabish depth of footings, digging out cellar, in Clarkston

Needed: Builder in Clarkston, G76

Job submitted:Jan 18, 2007

Job description:i want to convert my cellar into a living space. i would like some more head room. at the moment it is about 5' 10". the cellar will need to be dug out. a structural engineer has inspected the place but to find out how deep we can dig we need to establish exactly where the footings of the foundations are. i therefore need INSPECTION TRENCHES in 4 positions in the cellar. the contracter may need to be a specialist and have the proper insurance to dig in these areas ('m not sure). depending on what these trenches reveal the nxt task will be to dig out the areas where we can without disturbing the foundations. i am willing to look into the prospect of underpinning if essential though would rather try to design a shape that wouldn't need too much of that kind of work. it being expensive. once dug out a system of waterproofing/damp proofing will need to be installed so that the area can be used as a living space not just storage., the cellar is about 20' x 26' x 5' 10". it consists of one larege room and two smaller rooms. the contractors i will need are: 1. to dig out trenches for inspection 2. to dig out cellar and do any underpinning work that may need doing. 3. quotes for keeping cellar dry.

Budget:N/A
