Job description:I am buying a house and need to lower the level of the back courtyard to ensure the drainage is adequate. The courtyard is approx 6ftx10ft and has been concreted over. I have been told I need to employ a builder to remove the concrete and lower the level of the area near the back door-ensure the drainage from the guttering is connected to the drain, put in additional air bricks to the rear wall and check that the timbers in the floor of one of the downstairs rooms have not been damaged already. As I do not own the property yet, I just need to know a rough estimate of cost so I can negotiate the sale price of the house.
