Stop rain water entering at base of garage wall about 12ft by 9 inches in Childwall

Job description:I have a lean-to brick garage built on a concrete raft. Outside the rear wall there is a strip of concrete, about 12ft by 9 inches, which has deteriorated and seems to be letting water seep into the garage. If I am right, this needs digging out and re-concreting, perhaps with some sort of polythene seal.
