Job description:We are in a new build 3-floor townhouse on the New Braiswick Park development (Tufnell Way). We'd like to turn the space under our ground floor staircase into a storage compartment. Within this, we would ideally like a coat cupboard, a slot for the ironing board, space for the vacuum cleaner, and maybe a shoe rack or even a wine rack depending on space. Floor dimensions are approx. 200cm wide by 120cm deep. We are reasonably cost-sensitive, and don't feel we need it to be a particuarly elaborate/complex piece of work or built with expensive materials. We would ideally like it to match the white staircase, although we are happy to paint/finish it ourselves if necessary. As the house was only finished in November 2010 we would also appreciate your view on the subject of 'settling', and whether this project should be delayed until after the house is a bit older.
