Job description:Hi, I'm looking to add an insulated timber room into the garden of my house, external dimensions 6.5m by 2.3m. The room is to have a dual purpose. Firstly an office, so there will need to be sufficient electrical outlets to power a PC, printer, screens etc. A set of double sockets towards each end of the long wall, and a set of double sockets on each short wall ought to do it. The second purpose for the room is as a gym, so there will need to be sufficient hard standing for a multigym which includes 75-100kg of weights in a weight stack. The intention is to use the room all year round so insulation, lighting, power and heating is a must. In terms of windows etc, I was thinking of a door / set of double doors in the middle of the front aspect, with a window each side, or a double door to one side with a larger single window. Although I like the floor to ceiling glazed look, I'd rather have the IT equipment hidden from view, although I'm open to suggestions? I'd like the room to be standard room height, in line with planning permissions and building reg's etc, to allow full use of the multigym and so as not to restrict lifting weights over head height. I'm open to single pitch or double pitch solutions. I'm open to all types of look and finish, but am obviously looking to balance cost against aesthetic appeal, I'm not looking for a shed or summer-house look really. The final thing is the foundations. I have a shed currently within the new-build footprint on the attached drawing, which I'm looking to move to next to the summer house. It makes sense that if a concrete base is put down that the shed sits on the base too. Ideally I'm looking for someone to arrange and deliver the whole package including foundations, electrics, internal finish and erection; however I can arrange for a local contractor to lay the base if necessary. That's about it. I'd be really keen to see a selection of ideas and costs. I have an idea of the market costs from cruising eBay and several sites including yours, and this is a project that will defiantly go ahead with whomever provides the product / ideas I like best matched with price. In terms of which I consider the more important, I am split about 60/40 between Quality of solution and price. Please take a look at the attached drawing and get back to me with ideas and prices if this is a project that is of interest to you.
