Job description:We need an investigation and subsequent repair to an odour problem. The problem is an unpleasant odour (foul water type smell) which is in our kitchen. The domestic appliances appear to all drain correctly including the sink. However, there is a mild background smell near the drain pipe under the sink most of the time and when it rains this smell becomes very strong and unpleasant. We do not think the pipes are blocked and the area under the sink is dry. This leads us to believe there is a problem just outside the kitchen in the garden possibly the breach of a pipe or similar. In the past vermin were attracted there by the house wall and when we poured creosote down the hole to dissuade them, which did work, there was an overwhelming smell of creosote in the kitchen, again every time it rained.
