Sewer odor in bathroom when it rains in Splott

Job description:100 year old terraced house. Strong sewer odor when it rains, speacially in the morning and evening. Nothing when it's dry. Plumber came to have a look, he added 1.5m vent pipe and took it to attic and changed durgo valve. Did not resolved the problem. Odor comes from the casing which contains the drain/vent pipe, he checked (the t-section) with a torch and said there was no leaks. Anyway, he seems inexperienced and cannot explain the source of the problem. I would like someone who really knows their field to come and have a look.
