Job description:We have been advised by Homeserve that our washing machine is currently draining into a soakaway/rainwater gulley rather than the sewer, which runs a few feet away alongside the house. Over time the soakaway has become blocked and every time we have very heavy rain (like yesterday) the drain floods and the water pours down into the basement. This time it also poured down the flue to the boiler which is now full of water and cannot be used for a few days. We urgently need a proper drain installed to avoid this happening again. According to the Homeserve guy who came out it is about half a day's work but we were not covered on our policy for them to do the work.
