Excess water collecting along side wall of house so looking for drainage system to alleviate in Scarisbrick

Job description:Rainwater is collecting on top of the block paving at the side of the house and washing against the brickwork of the house. This seems to be causing damp to penetrate into the house. Currently there is nowhere for this excess water to drain away to and I was thinking of installing a french drain tryp system to run the water down to a grid at the back of the house, or relaying the block paving to slope it away from the house and installing a drain on the other side of the block paving. Really I need some advice before proceeding.
