Job description:Water is leaking into our cellar, coming in through the brick walls. We notice it particularly when it rains heavily. We assume that the main reason is that a rainwater pipe running parallel to the house has become clogged up with roots from a nearby willow tree. It may also be that some of the roots have reached the outer wall of the house and eroded the underground bricks, which may need to be repointed. We are having the tree removed, but will also need to attend to this issue quite soon.
