Socket failure in Brockworth

Job description:I live in a Barratts new build, on Thursday there was a bang while the dishwasher was on and it tripped the electrics in the kitchen, having spoken to Barratts they are reluctant to get involved as we have lived here for over 2 years but have said if it is because of their fitting they will pay. Having sort advice from the site manager he told me how to take out the built in dishwasher, having done this I found that the plug socket at the rear is broken and burnt along with the dishwasher plug. the plug was on an angle as though it had been forced in and was very difficult to remove. I have contacted my home insurance to see if it is covered just in case, but I will need some one to look at it and give a quote and advise as to what is the cause and if Barratts fitters were at fault.
