Hotpoint dryer(17460 super deluxe) will only run if I stand and lean on the door catch. in Furnace

Job description:Hotpoint 17460 super deluxe dryer. Machine will only run if I put weight on the door catch. As soon as I stop leaning on it, it cuts out. I think something is bent inside and not making proper contact.
