Restore power to downstairs ring main circuit in Kingsley

Job description:The downstairs ring main keeps tripping. We have called out emergency electricians who have replaced the RCD switch on December 25th 2010.  However, he also advised us to progressively unplug all appliances if the electrics continue to trip, suspecting the cause to be a faulty appliance. We have done this to the point that we cannot restore power to the ring main circuit without it tripping, even without any appliances connected. The emergency electrician has advised that if the electrics are still tripping after the RCD has been fitted then there is probably a break in a cable.  We require the necessary diagnostics and repairs to be undertaken. As the boiler is on the downstairs ring main we are without heating as well as power to the downstairs.
