Our shower has ben tripping fuses in the consumer unit it was fitted a few years ago but now only... in Springhead

Job description:Our shower has ben tripping fuses in the consumer unit it was fitted a few years ago but now only last a week before blowing a fuse. Its an 8.5kw shower on a 6mm cable which goes into a 30amp fuse. A local electricain said he would just upgrade the fuse but hasnt been able to find one that fits our consumer unit which is an old Memera (i think). As he couldnt find a bigger fuse he has suggested we need a new consumer unit, Need someone to check things out and see if this is the case.
