Job description:An intermittent electrical fault is causing the power to trip out throughout the property. The problem appears to be with the "Front Room and Upstairs Sockets" circuit as if this is left off the problem does not occur. All electrical items have been unplugged and front room and upstairs sockets turned off, however in spite of this, switching the "Front Room and Upstairs Sockets" circuit back on still causes the master circuit to trip off. The problem will persist for a short period (usually a few hours) before everything returns to normal and the circuit can be switched on and sockets can be used without causing the master circuit to trip off. This has happened on three occasions during mid-2011, again on 23 December and then again yesterday (04 January). Whilst the problem often rectifies itself, its unpredictable nature means that appliances such as the fridge and freezer can occasionally be left without power if the whole circuit trips off whilst no-one is in the property. I would like an electrician to test the "Front Room and Upstairs Sockets" circuit for faults that may be causing the intermittent problem described above and rectify the problem, or provide a quote for rectifying the problem.
