Replace extractor fan in bathroom in Minster

Job description:Existing extractor fan is a Vectaire ~14 years old and does not do a very good job! The fan is attached to the ceiling, separate to the light but works via the light switch. Bathroom is a first floor flat and not near an external wall therefore I'm not sure where the fan outlet is & whether this is the problem. I have not bought a new fan - happy to take recommendations and/or for the electrician to supply one.
