Plug socket exchanging for fuse spur in Fulwood

Job description:i have an aga which is currently connected via a 13 amp plug into a normal plug socket with a switch, altho it then goes onto a fuse spur with a switch and a light, i have now been told by aga service team (who were the people who originally said to do it that way) that i now need it changing to a fuse spur, as the plug is 'burning' out??? Aga engineer says should be five minute job
