Job description:House just purchased and needs some upgrade work. Had an electrician in for complete test and he found that a few things need doing, and we've found his quote a little too steep. Ideally, we'd like to buy as much of the new bits as possible, to keep our costs low (budget is very tight). Job list from electician: - Install new 17th edition dual RCD fuse board (we have now bought one with MCB's ready for installation) - Upgrade main earth to 16mm - Install / upgrade water and gas earth bond - Investigate low insulation reading and re-locate cooker swith on cabinet (this is currently on the kitchen floor) - Install insulated connectors in spot lights (two in the bathroom) - Earth metal face plate (kitchen light switch is not earthed) - Investigate and attempt repair of ring circuit if not split (not sure here: something to do with downstairs ring) All this is explained in better detail on the inpection report.
