Solid wood flooring. in Darley

Job description:We have a living room approx. 17 sq. metres, and a hall of 7 sq. metres. The living room has one doorway leading through to the hallway, which has a futher six doorways in it. We live on the top (2nd.)floor and the present floor is wooden joists overlayed with chipboard. We have purchased solid oak timber flooring which is 110mm. wide 18mm. thick and already has a finishing coat. We wish to install a sound proofing membrane which looks like coir and is around 1/4" inch thick. I believe that the method to use on installation would be secret nailing.
