Overgrown rear garden to turn into budget Japanese in Perry Barr

Job description:Back garden approx 15ft wide by 30ft long. Currently in 3 sections of lawn (very poor grass, overgrown and lots of weeds), sunken area with wood chip (again, with lots of weeds) and a third area with cotswold pebbles and only some weeds (mainly becuase the shed covers most of this). some paved area but only a bit. I'd like it to be cleared and then more area covered with pebbles but with various plants / trees planted - sort of a budget Japanese style. ongoing maintenence - not really as i'd like it to be easy to manage but open to suggestions.
