Gas fire will not light in Bingley

Job description:I have a Valor Homeflame gas fire. To light the fire I have to set the regulator dial to ignition and press the ignition button whilst keeping the dial held down for 5 seconds. This is all fine and the fire lights but as soon I let go of the dial the gas supply stops and the fire goes out. I did manage to light the fire yesterday and it ran fine for about 5 mins then the supply cut out again.
