Boiler fine but not heating rads in Portslade

Job description:boiler has been heating water all summer, but will not heat the radiators.when i tested it for winter. in my limited knowledge i think it could be the 2 port valve gone or whatever that spring thing is called. also my boiler is 10 years old (potterton) and could use a service. not done for3 years!
