Job description:HI I have an Apollo 15/30 boiler and the pilot light's gone out. I have tried to re-light it as per instructions, i.e turning off the elec at the mains, depressing the gas valve and using the ignitor button - it just won't stay lit, even after I've held it for 20 seconds, released it slowly and twisted in the direction of the arrow, left it for 3 minutes and tried again and again and again!!! Any ideas Please.....??? I received this answer on a web search -When a pilot light will not stay lit, it usually leads to a fauty thermocouple. They are heated by the pilot and when they fail, the gas valve cannot determine that the pilot is lit. I have heard that Myson boilers pilots were notorius for bad pilots, but, I tend to believe the thermocouple has failed. It's very common.
