Blockage from rads in St Julians

Job description:System 7 years old, Boiler works ok, some rads get really hot others dont, some no heat at all. British gas say there is crud in the system and needs powerwashing through which is expensive. The rads that don't work and get partially hot all have thermostats on them and the pipework to them is hot?
