Needed: Heating Engineer in Stoke, PL2

Job submitted:Oct 24, 2011

Job description:Having passed through Summer we have had no demand for CH until very recently.   As such, we have only been using hot water and this has been fine.   Boiler has had minimal servicing/maintenance (none since we have lived there (2 years)).   Have noticed a drip emanating from the bottom of the boiler (not sure exactly where from until removing casing recently, which points towards DHW Flowstat).   Pressure has been low/zero for some time now (probably as a result of leak), but has not had a negative effect due to lack of CH demand.   Upon topping up system (to increase pressure), pressure drops fairly quickly.   When running CH pressure builds significantly.  Have let it get to around 3/4 bar before we manually shutdown.  Understand boiler should operate between 1 and 2.5bar (only from knowledge?).   Operating heating (albeit in an unsuccessful manner) negative effects hot water eg. no hot water.   Very recent events: Operated heating fairly successfully on Thursday (20/10/11) night, which resulted in intermittent hot water the following morning – Boiler would fire and then shutoff repeatedly.

Budget:Under £100
